seattle design guide from design*sponge
it’s things like these that do make me nostalgic for the emerald city, and the time that i’d spent in seattle discovering every little nook and cranny of the city finding spots for hidden treasures i once coveted as mine. not so much anymore with this seattle design guide from design*sponge; i personally can vouch that i’ve been to most these places, and for all my hometown...

i typically don’t believe in this stuff, but sometimes the very things we don’t believe in have a way of shaking us to our core when we least expect.
i’ve been having relatively vivid dreams in the last few months, but typically few and far between, and usually the meanings and symbolism behind them obscure and irreverent. not so with this most recent one, the one last night. ...
yarn$ chain$.
two yarn knot necklaces, knitted + crocheted by yours truly. i’m particularly fond of how the blue one turned out.

the entire spring 2010 collection is perfection. my hands-down favorite is the hexagon ring - one can dream, right?

(de)liberation.
isn’t it strange that human beings will invariably expect the worst to happen only so that if and/or when things do inevitably turn for the worst, they find comfort and solace in telling the world and themselves ‘i told you so?’
new shoes!
i’ve been an awful blogger lately - i’m so sorry! life has thrown a few excellent curveballs my way in the past few weeks and hopefully i can now finally find some time to get caught up. in the meantime, revel in the perfection of these b store oxfords that came in the mail yesterday; best part was i only ordered them four days ago and they’re already here = win!

romper love.
how great is this photo? i was never fully convinced by the romper pandemic that started early 2009, but i think it might be worth it now to at least investigate. love the crisp simplicity of the one piece white broken up by the camel saddle belt and pointed flats.
new boots!
super excited for these! i ordered these last week and they just arrived in the mail today - a nice surprise on a relatively humdrum wednesday. i went a little nuts last week with some online shopping - ordered and received an amazing dolce vita cape from gilt groupe, and expecting deliveries from j. crew and urban outfitters in the next few days. i’ll post additional photos soon!
a single man.
an amazing film. if this is at all indicative of how designers’ forays into film turn out, all designers need to direct a feature at some point in their career. absolutely gorgeous shots, beautiful/creative use of color, immaculate production design and the fact that everyone looks like a model in this film are only a few reasons out of many why everyone needs see a single man.

Alexander McQueen found dead in his London home at... →
as the start of fashion week stirs the streets of manhattan, there is palpable gloom in the air as the news of the loss of one of our generation’s great designers absorbs into his many devotees. his death is suspected as a suicide, and while unconfirmed, the circumstances surrounding are not deemed as suspicious. truly sad.
lonny issue #3.
third issue of lonny magazine is now available; a few of my choice pages above. see the issue in its entirety here.
short stories: yea or nay?
in looking back through some digital and analog archives i uncovered a small mass of writings i’ve done throughout the years; normally i’m hesitant to share these for a variety of reasons, but i’m thinking it might be good practice to post both these and new writings (to get back into the habit of writing at least weekly) to share with my readers. but, i’m still not...
ruche spring 2010 lookbook.
a few of my favorites from ruche spring 2010 lookbook.
poster cabaret.
originally composed of only concert and band posters, poster cabaret has now grown to encompass some amazing illustration prints by some very talented artists while still keeping true to its concert/band poster bread and butter. a selection of my favorite concert posters above, all available via poster cabaret.

the sartorialist: a graceful man, a gentleman
in spirit of the fast approaching valentine’s day holiday and in contest to the ubiquitous “chivalry is dead” debate, comes a beautiful post by scott schuman, aka the sartorialist. not only does it come complete with a ‘30 rock’ reference, but he demonstrates so eloquently that grace, humility and chivalry does indeed still exist. read the entire post here, and a...
valentine's day redux: heart flowers
absolutely gorgeous post over on design*sponge today from studio choo on mini-arrangements a la chocolate heart. these pretty little things can be handed out to co-workers, friends or the whole lot can go to your significant other, but what a unique and creative way to celebrate without adding to the standard issue chocolate and dozen roses en masse. full instructions and (beautiful)...
(b)rogue celebration.
really excited about these! i bought these as a means of celebration - the company i’ve been consulting for for the last 15 months finally made me an actual employee this week, so naturally a little retail celebration needed to ensue. i’d also been on the hunt for a great pair of camel leather brogues for some time, and i truly believe these fit the bill perfectly.

clearance love.
i’m in sacramento today (and was yesterday) for work, and while in town, there’s not much to do without a car. there is however, a small westfield shoppingtown plaza within walking distance from my hotel, so i took a small detour there after work yesterday to see what deals were to be had; i did not leave disappointed! american eagle and gap both had some great clearance items; all...
paint me colours.
chalkboard paint, no longer just available in black or dark green, is re-imagined in a plethora of new colors by hudson paint. especially loving the glass storage canisters painted with a ribbon of color chalkboard paint along the bottom.
all colors and stockists can be found via the hudson paint website, here.
